Winner, winner!

I have been quilting for a couple years now and decided it was time to enter something in my local county fair. I took my king size black and gold Sew Kind of Wonderful medallion quilt. Little did I know The Great Jones County Fair would be so good to me! My quilt was picked for best of show! After I looked at the other quilts I was even more pleased because there were so many other wonderfully designed, well made quilts.

I guess I better start working on something for next years fair.

Here’s a little update: how it looks on my bed. I’m super excited to get the walls painted and start using it!

Close up of the quilting. This is a panto that I got from Urbanelementz.com. I made it 4.5 inches tall. That took forever to quilt, But it was worth it. I can’t wait to finish my next quick curve ruler project!

Making Progress

Heidi 1

Some of our friends had a new baby girl recently and I just had to make a quilt for her.

I made a simple wonky patch block then embroidered her name on it with minky. I used the same pink minky for the backing but instead of putting it on the frame I used my BERNINA stitch regulator and did some free motion swirls.

I also finished (almost) the top for my Medallion Quilt-A-long.  According to the guide lines of the quilt-a-long it is finished, however I am going to add some borders to it to make it a king size. I am hoping to finish that in the next couple days and then the hard part begins. I have no idea how to quilt it! If you have any ideas let me know!
